- Draw up a guest list.
- Count addresses not people.
- Order a few extra (for you album, photographer, etc. and in case you have forgotten someone)
- Choose a practical size (consider postage and standard envelope sizes)
- Order invitations at least 4 or 5 months before the wedding or occasion. (Consider out of town guests and accommodation)
- Make 100% sure of spelling and wording.
- Consider maps for out of town guests.
- Decide on a date for RSVP's.
- Choose if you wish to mention a gift registry and cash bar.
- Invitations should be posted at least one month before the RSVP date.
- Other stationary like church programmes, menus and wedding favours can be ordered 1-2 months before the big day.
- The table plan can be done 2-4 weeks before the occassion or as soon as all the replies have been received.
